Antony Hamilton’s obituary in “The Los Angeles Times” in 1995.

Antony Parker who portrayed roles as diverse as secret agent Jack Stryker on the TV series “Cover Up” and Samson in the small-screen remake of “Samson and Delilah,” died in Los Angeles Wednesday. He was 42.

Born in England, Hamilton moved to Australia, where he was premier danseur with the Australian Ballet Co. While a young man he modeled for many commercial photographers, among them Avedon, Skrebneski and Bruce Weber.In the 1980s he was featured in several TV films, among them the 1985 “Mirrors,” in which he was cast to type as a dancer opposite Marguerite Hickey.

In 1984, ABC aired a remake of “Samson and Delilah,” which was not treated generously by critics but noted for the appearance of Victor Mature as Hamilton’s father. Mature had played Samson in the original 1949 Cecil B. DeMille feature film.

Hamilton’s parents, Donald and Margaret Smith, and his sister Penelope ask that contributions be made in his name to AIDS Project Los Angeles.
